Still the only book dedicated to needle play, well-known kink educator Deborah Addington provides a useful overview of techniques, anatomy and safety...along with some slightly dubious 'erotica' which may or may not be to your taste. Geared towards the novice, there's a lot of good information here, but advanced players may find themselves taking issue with some of the pronouncements, and the writing style may take a little getting used to. Overall though, Play Piercing is a worthwhile read and deserving addition to any kinky bookshelf.

Play Piercing book.
An interesting read with good tips and advice, but she does say to stay away from the balls, which is a bit disappointing.
