Coronavirus/Covid-19 Update

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Update

Posted by Justin on 18th Mar 2020

Since we released our initial statement just under two weeks ago, the situation has evolved rapidly, with the UK and many other countries taking action to slow or limit the spread of contagion ranging from social distancing advice to full-scale lockdowns. As infections continue to rise globally, and with further restrictions being imposed on a daily basis, there is no doubt we are in an unprecedented time of uncertainty and fear.

We can be clear however that while we do not yet know when this will end, we will eventually come through it. We are not going to go into details here regarding what people should or should not be doing, as there is a wealth of information available…but there is also a great deal of misinformation circulating, so we urge you to seek out reliable sources and to heed the advice and instructions of national and local authorities wherever you are.

As an online business with a very small team we are able, for the moment, to continue operating largely as normal. Postal and courier services are still working (with a few local exceptions), both within the UK and internationally. So while the movement of people is becoming increasingly restricted, governments and carriers are attempting to make sure global trade can continue by allowing goods to keep moving.

Because the situation is still evolving, this could of course change at any time, but we will continue to process and dispatch orders wherever and for as long as we are are able to do so.

As previously announced, infection control products remain in short supply, and we will not be re-stocking the majority of these while the outbreak continues to develop and spread. This affects only a small part of our range however, and we still have lots of things available to help you have some fun and hopefully try to stay positive during these difficult times.

We are currently dispatching most orders within 24-48hrs as normal, although with the possibility of delivery delays we encourage you to place orders as far in advance as you can. But most of all we encourage you to keep placing orders, if your circumstances allow, not only with us but also with other small independent businesses, many of whom are going to be struggling for survival during the coming months.

We are confident MedFetUK is resilient enough that whatever happens we will definitely still be here on the other side of this, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our wonderful worldwide MedFet community. Now more than ever we need to support each other as much as possible, both as businesses and individuals, to cope with the challenges as best we can and hope that better times will not be too long in coming.

Stay strong, and keep washing those hands.
